Anel's Reflection
The experiences that I encountered when conducting the research and writing the paper was just seeing how terrible these animals were being treated. It saddens me in a way because I wouldn’t want that to happen to my pets. The way these animals were treated was extremely crucial, especially with the given fact that they weren’t given any anesthesia for the pain. This made me value my pets more and actually give them more love than what I usually do. I have two birds and a hamster, which I love to death. I’ve had my pets for almost three years and have been very well taken care of.
My partner and I choose our project because we wanted to do a project about something that mattered to both of us and since we both have pets we wanted to see how animal testing was like. I didn’t know how badly animal testing was until I started to do this project and started to look more into it. Jacky has a dog, which she extremely adores and I have my own pets in which I also adore. So as you can see, animal testing for us is a sensitive topic, since we are both animal lovers.
The advice I would give a student who will be completing the fire project next year is that he or she should work on it on time and never lack off. The fire project for me was kind of fun but then again it was kind of boring in a way, but it also depends in what your topic is. As for me, I had initially started with a project that wasn’t so much interesting to me. Until I decided to switch it to animal testing, which then it started to become more interesting to me. So I believe if you’re going to do a fire project, he/she should do it on what really interests them rather than changing it the last minute.
